Crossfade Programming A DMPro

Get the kit you want this snare in loaded and ready.

Hit the snare pad on Zendrum so the snare is the currently selected drum to edit.

Hit "Chase" and turn it off (the red light goes out) so you will not accidentally hit another pad and edit the wrong drum.

Hit "Mix" and cycle to the Drum Link screen, and make sure it is OFF.

Hit "Drum, Edit"

Cycle through the menus until you see Sound1 on the screen.

Make sure Sound Enable for sound 1 is ON.

Pick the sound you want for your quiet hits.

In amplitude screen select velocity curve "1 of 2".

Cycle back to Sound2.

Make sure Sound Enable for sound 2 is ON.

Pick the sound you want for your loud hits.

In amplitude screen select velocity curve "2 of 2".

Cycle back to sounds 3 and 4, and turn them off by selecting sound enable OFF for each one.

Play the drum loudly and softly, and if it sounds good, go to next step. If it does not sound good, set the proper volume levels for each sound, and the pitch for each sound. Also mess with the "Velocity to filter" value. When it sounds as good as you can get it, proceed.

NAME YOUR NEW DRUM. It is so easy to forget where you store them!

Hit "Store" and it will ask where to store it (user drum location number). When you have the right location selected, hit Store again.

Hit "Kit" to get out of drum edit mode.

Hit "Drum" to make sure this new drum is now set as the snare drum on this kit.

Hit "Mix" to set the level (volume), pan (right/left), and effects send level for this drum.

While in Mix edit mode, make SURE the Drum Link is set to OFF! If it is "ON", you will always hear another drum playing at the same time (which you may or may not desire).

When the kit as a whole is working well, store the kit.
